Where to find free pictures, documents, and sounds.

In the same way that Open Source has made it possible for individuals to freely share, modify, and use software, the Creative Commons Licence does the same thing for sound, text, and music. For example browse to the Creative Commons Flickr site for images that you can use and modify without breaking copyright. (Make sure to read the licenses on the right hand side).

Got GIMP?

If you haven’t already found it, the Gimp is a free image editor with comparable features to Adobe Photoshop. It is however very different in it’s layout. To help you learn this powerful tool, I would recommend that you browse to Grokking the Gimp on the Gimp Saavy website. This site also includes a license free photo archive that you can use for your own web graphics.
